| I’ve heard Richmond Strikers and Kickers are merging and creating a second ECNL team in the Mid-Atlantic. Can anybody confirm? |
| Isn’t that what Richmond United is for? |
| Yes. Don't they already have this? Maybe they are splitting apart. |
Confirmed |

PP - confirmed by who exactly?
The whole reason that Richmond United was created to begin with was that the soccer pool in Richmond wasn't large enough to support having Kickers and Strikers both have teams at what was then the DA level for boys and ECNL for girls. So, they kept their own rec level teams and other VA affiliated teams including ENCL-RL and combined for a single ECNL level team on the boys and girls side, which seemed to work fairly well. There have been a few high level boys players that left to play at MLS Academies and they seemed to have some success at getting players into their USL pool for play on the USL1 Kickers team. The girls side has been fairly successful at getting players recruited to college teams and their USLW team had a pretty successful first season. |
Isn’t that what Richmond United is?? Can you elaborate further? |
|
Sounds like the McLean/SYC 2.0…
One club will get GA the other will stay in ECNL |
| This is the most bestest time of the year in youth soccer. Rumors of clubs merging, coaches and players defecting, league addition/subtraction. LFG! |
This doesn’t even make sense. Those two separated. These two are coming together |
These two already came together for ECNL. People need to get their rumors straight before they pile on. |
You are an idiot. Richmond Strikers and Kickers combine their best kids at select ages to form Richmond United ECNL. What more is there to merge? Their rec program? |
| They both currently have their own RL teams. Strikers has the best RL teams in Virginia. Moving forward, Richmond Strikers and Kickers RL teams will merge to make a second ECNL team in Richmond. Like Courage / NCFC. |
Can we send the Charlotte teams to SC/GA then? If so, Im pro this. |
But isn't what they already did to create their first ECNL team? |
But with so much success from Strikers in RL, sounds like they’re doing it again. |
