We were planning to go to Rome this year but the Jubilee has put us off. Then I considered Athens but am hoping for a slightly shorter flight.
Two teen boys who are more into urban than rural. London and Paris are the obvious (and I suppose Lisbon and Madrid) but I am looking for a city I haven’t been to yet. We’d fly out of Chicago. |
Berlin and Prague |
Dublin or Barcelona |
It would probably help if you listed the cities you've been to.
Vancouver or Mexico City? |
Copenhagen. Amusement park inside the city. Very urban, very easy train transit which you can even cross into Malmo and get to do two countries. SAS flies direct from Chicago I believe. |
And what time of year? |
Came to say Prague. Tons of things to do. Depending on the time of year, take them to a hockey game! |
Barcelona. |
Amsterdam or Berlin |
OP here. This is exactly what I’m looking for. We would be traveling in October. I haven’t been to Denmark, Amsterdam, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Poland.
I have been to France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, and I don’t remember where else. |
I think they would love Amsterdam |
Dubrovnik and either Sarajevo or Zagreb?
Or Zagreb, Ljubljana, and/or Venice? Belfast and Dublin? Berlin and Krakow or Prague? Krakow/Gdansk/Warsaw? Istanbul? Prague and Budapest? Tokyo? Seoul? Dubai and Abu Dhabi? Marrakech and Fez? Too many options! |
Oops - most not a shorter flight. Dublin would be. |
Brussels/Bruges (also easy to get to Paris from there if you want to add it on) |
I went with teens, and I would add on another city too. That’s what we did because I can’t imagine staying there for a week (and we stayed in a local neighborhood and had amazing food). |
