Don't give up on spring break yet

Just bought tickets and hotel for six days for four people to Puerto Rico for $6k. Check around for various options. There were good options for the Bahamas too.

Are you pulling kids from school? Where are you staying?

There was no need to pull them from school, the dates worked within the spring break window - 3 days in isla verde and three days in a more beachy area.

Yeah, I'm sure I can piece together some trip with ridiculous flight times and an awful hotel for spring break week at this price. Wouldn't be hard. What is hard is desirable flights with quality hotels anywhere near this price.

PR is great during spring break, op!

OSJ is very crowded that week, fyi. But it’s still worth visiting. Driving/parking require patience.

Definitely rent a car.

Visit Luquillo beach and the kioskos before or after visiting El Yunque.

OP here- Y'all are some sad, hurt people. They are direct flights, am departure, evening return, and 4 star hotels, ocean view. Costco travel currently has three days at the St. Regis for $2800 if that is your thing. We decided against it this time around. But you can stay home and stay angry while we go enjoy our trip, which is clearly not good enough for you.

Thanks! We've been multiple times and know our way around pretty well. We'll definitely be at the kioskos and luquillo most days

You were nice to post OP! PR is great and often does have great bargains — it is closer than other places in Carribean and there are more hotel options so the prices are often much better. We went one year for Thanksgiving and it was like half of the AI we’d priced in Jamaica. We also used a Costco package and got something like an additional $500 or more off that way. Please come back and tell us where you stayed and if you like it! I would love to go back some time.
