Suggest a gift for my friend's 5 mo girl

Anonymous
I'm visiting a friend and want to bring a high quality, stylish gift for their 5-6 mo baby girl. I would be grateful for any ideas. Brand names and/or links would be great.

Price range?

I'll spend whatever the average is for a shower gift. Is $30-$50 about right? I've known this person for a few years, so a smaller gift would probably be appropriate.

Maybe look on Maisonette — I have a 5 month old and clothes (size 6mo+), pajamas, toys (she us teething - Sophie the Giraffe are popular fancy teethers), first food sets (bc they start eating soon) might be nice

Assuming she has current warm clothes for the baby, why not choose a summer swimsuit and hat?

That sophie the giraffe teether or anythign else from that line would fit the bill.

savings bond, contribution to a 529 plan, ormoney, and a small gift - wubbanub pacifier, baby soap or baby sunscreen, hooded towel that can be used into toddlerhood.

A stylish gift for a 5 month old. Ok.

Are they high- end type people?

We weren't, but receivec high end stuff anyway which baby wore once and then had a massive blowout in or outgrew too quickly before she ever had a chance to wear it or a few toys which she never really took to.

Would have appreciated more practical things if you're going to spend high-end money (diapers, stuff for eating with a 6mo + old, items for car, etc).

Just a thought.

Hop on moms facebook, snag a cute picture of her+baby, head to shutterfly.com and have a mug or keepsake made.

Can’t get much that’s high quality stylist for 30 bucks. You can get a cute high end outfit from somewhere like Petit Bateau or Bonpoint but it will be outside your stated price range.

I would do several classical childrens books. Maybe 1 board book for now and then a hard cover Blueberries for Sal or Make way for Ducklings or Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.

Actually just a quick check online- petit bateau is cheaper than what I remember from my kids baby days, you could get a cute onesie from there for 50ish dollars. If she wants “high end” items I’d do that. (I agree it’s ridiculous but , some moms want that stuff)
