| What do you do when your dd is obsessed with how bad her nose is? Her nose is not actually bad, certainly not a nose that stands out as being huge or wrong for her face. She started crying today in the car over it after seeing her profile in fitting room. Of course I tell her she looks great but she sees people around her getting nose job, people’s small noses online and she just can’t seem to accept herself. Any advice would be appreciated. |
| how old is she? tell her that her face is still growing and you will consider it when the time comes. |
| Maybe she could get it pierced? |
| How old? |
She is 17. |
| I had my nose done at 17 at my mother’s strong suggestion. It’s not too young to do it if it’s what she really wants |
| I'd tell her we'll consider it when she's finished growing. |
Maybe your nose was very large or stood out though? I get it for such cases but in her case her nose is truly not an issue to anyone other than her. It seems risky to end up with a worse nose. |
I would allow it. |
|
Just no. And someday she can pay for it to be done when SHE can afford it and consent for it.
Otherwise she may blame you when it doesn’t come out right. |
What you consider a bad nose is different than others. What is objectively wrong with her nose? Bump? |
The slightest bump and just not small. It looks like Penelope Cruz’s nose. |
This. Have one final conversation about it OP. The answer is no, as long as she is a minor and funded by you, which most likely will be until she is at least 22-23. If she wants to start saving for it then, that's on her. |
She doesn't like it. Get over that you don't hate it, she does. She has a bump. That isn't feminine. |
What? Kind of a weird answer. |
