Which gold bracelet to buy?

Anonymous
I am looking to buy a nice gold bracelet. I am looking at this one:

https://robertocoin.com/en-us/product/18k-verona-medium-width-bangle-w-diamond-accent/

I am also thinking of a Cartier Love bracelet.

https://www.cartier.com/en-us/jewelry/bracelets/love-bracelet-medium-model-B6081517.html

Thoughts or other recommendations?

I have worn silver forever and this will be the first gold piece I have. Thanks!

I like the first better. Love ones need to be screwed on which is stupid.

I don’t live the Cartier bracelet and find it too ubiquitous but it’s probably a better “investment.”

They are both pretty much the same. And a little boring.

The Cartier bracelet has stood the test of time wrt durability. The Coin one looks fragile. DH got me one with a clasp like that and it broke.

Definitely the first. The Cartier Love is so played out and wasn't actually nice to look at in the first place, IMHO.

I have the Cartier and rarely wear it anymore. I like the first one but would like it more if it wasn't in a flower type style. I'd maybe look around to see if I could find a bangle with diamonds in a different setting.

They might have the Roberto Coin necklace at the Bloomingdale's at Tysons for you to look at in person and try on.

I also like Lagos, which you can also try on there. I like the caviar bracelets, but don't like the DY-like ones. https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/lagos-caviar-gold-collection-18k-gold-beaded-bracelet?ID=966749&CategoryID=1005885

I meant bracelet, not necklace.

Neither… both are overplayed. Look at the Bouchier Slinkee…. Swoon.

That bracelet is very pretty, but I’m convinced that designers who come out with their own “response” to the Love bracelet are the ones truly laughing to the bank. People are basically willing to play 2-3x for another utilitarian gold bangle that is eerily similar to what they claim they are trying to separate themselves from.

Wait please educate me - how is this a “‘response’ to the Love bracelet,” or “eerily similar”? To me this looks like a fun and cheeky take on the telephone cord hair tie that has not left my wrist for the last year, and the price seems to match any solid gold bangle…? TIA!

That’s beautiful but why do I feel like hair would catch

PP. When the Love came out, it was unique because in a world where women only wore fine jewelry on special occasions, this bracelet was meant to be worn everyday. It's inspired by an every day object (a flat head screw), has a relatively unique oval shape to fit snug to the wrist, and comes in several sizes to ensure that tailored fit.

Every day object = flathead screw vs hair tie
Oval shape = check for both
Several sizes = available in sizes 15-20

The difference though is everyone knows a love from a mile away. Way too many fakes out there too. The Slinkee currently is a IYKYK kind of piece without a ton of dupes out there. I personally love it and am saving up to get the pave version
