There are many more irritating words.
Look, I don't love the whole "boy mom" or "girl dad" thing. However, a few years ago I became friendly with a woman in my neighborhood who uses the term "boy mom" because she has three boys. It was definitely off-putting when I heard her say it, but then I got over it. Good for her that she embraces being a mom to her kids. I don't know why she needs that label but it seems to make her happy. She's a really good person and I like her. You have to just let this stuff go. |
| boy mom = puke emoji |
| I have four boys. I am primal. Hear me roar. |
+1. Nauseating. |
| I have 3 boys. I am a boy mom. |

It is a reaction to a pretty anti-boy zeitgeist in a lot of corners. Lots of threads on this already and there is tons of anti-boy bias even in various DCUM posts.
Also, I have boys - gender impacts personalities (and the level of noise and chaos/energy in my home!) and yes it's different than having girls would be. I don't use the term but like a PP above I get it. I know ppl with 3-4 boys and it's a very specific experience. |
Fellow boy mom here. I hear you! But my energetic little rascals told me that basing my personality on my kids’ gender is beyond pathetic. Little males can be so direct! |
| I have a son and a daughter l and I wonder why I never got a cute category name |
|
Yes, “girl mom.”
I have both. |

I don’t get the term in the sense of why does everything needs to be branded with a catch phrase these days? It’s not enough to be a mom and to say “I have two boys.” Everything had to be a hashtagable phrase that can be printed on moms beach trucker hat or her wine-o-clock glasses.
I guess I don’t understand how being a boy mom is different from being a mom???? |
|
“Mom of boys,” you’re fine.
“BOY MOM,” you are annoying and think your son does literally no wrong. “He’s all boy,” I will punch you in the tit. |
Are you ok? |
What is wrong with you? No, seriously. What is your diagnosis? Because this sort of anger and hostility is abnormal. Threatening physical violence over use of a phrase? That’s psychotic. |
I have 2 boys, zero girls. I am a boy mom. It's a thing and it is great, imo. |
