I am mad at my hair stylist. I asked for blond highlights and ended up with sections of grayish blue strands! She claims it is because the toner interacted poorly with the dye and this can happen.
Well I’ve gotten blonde highlights for three decades at all different salons and this never happened before. I asked stylist what I can do and she said it’ll fade and to wash my hair with dawn dish soap. I paid over $200 and am left looking like I have gray hairs (which I don’t) and she tried to correct it by dying some areas brown. That is not what I asked for. She has yet to offer to fix the color. My husband says to give it a couple of days to oxidize but I’m so put off by the lack of accommodation from stylist. Need advice on how to proceed. TIA! |

Call me, boo. |
| Why on earth haven't you demanded a refund? She's expecting you to. |
| How should I go about that? |
You show up while the color is fresh, and you ask for a refund. |
| OP here-I texted her and she didn’t offer to fix it. Doubt she’d offer a refund. And then I burn a bridge with an otherwise really good hair cutter. |
| You’re planning on going back after this? If I were her I’d raise your price, clearly you’re a sucker. |
| I have hard to cut hair and she’s done a great job for years. It’s not easy to find a good curly hair cut. For color I doubt I’d go back. |
| Why would she volunteer to lose out on money? You need to ask. I also can't believe you want to continue going to her. |
| She seems inexperienced with color which is probably why she didn't offer to fix it. She probably doesn't know how. |
| I assumed since I’ve followed her to different salons that she would have integrity and do the right thing. Guess I’m wrong. |
You're not allowed to complain if you haven't had the courage to push for a refund, send her a bad review on her social media, etc. Sometimes you need to be a hard ass, OP. Haven't you learned this already in your life? Practice now, with something as low-key as a hair stylist, so that when something serious happens to you or a loved one, you can muster up the courage to fight. If you want to continue being a doormat, fine. But in that case no one wants to hear about your hair. You'll just have to like it and lump it. |
| Oh I can't stand people who whine and complain and do nothing about it. |

"Jane, I really love the way you cut my hair, and I plan on staying with you for those. However, I do need you to reimburse me for the color accident. Thank you."
Quid pro quo. It's not just Presidents who can do it. |
| OP here -if she doesn’t offer to reimburse then I should just move on? |
