Not if the original photo was from that volunteer opportunity last fall—doing that would just beg the question of why they couldn’t snap her on the sofa with the kids, and retouch any puffiness if that was the issue.

The silliest theory imo is that Rose Hanbury is pregnant. Rose doesn’t strike me as the kind of gal who would have any qualms about abortion. Plus she’s another “commoner” (albeit with distant royal connections) who leveraged herself into a title, so why would she risk that?

I have seen the video from when they went to help at the charity. She is wearing the same boots and jeans. Charlotte has the same boots and blouse on underneath the sweater. That is all that is the same.

watch the tik tok posted above - they go through all the clothes from that day

I have seen it. She is really reaching.

Same- I was believing until she just ignored Louis bc he has a completely different sweater on. They’re pretty basic pieces, and the kids probably have separate public/private wardrobes, so a smaller selection of classic pieces to reuse.

All the obviously bad photoshopping is around the clothes - the girl's sleeve and skirt are both poorly misaligned and at Kate's neckline/zipper area, all bad.
My personal first reaction to the pic was "Whaaat? Abdominal surgery and those skinny jeans? No" -- but I didn't just to photoshop theories like others.

Also, Louis appears to be wearing the same collared shirt as that day, but the sweater is different. The sweater he wore in Nov was pretty distinctive. The patterning on the Mother's Day pic sweater is one of the photoshop errors. In my opinion, the theory still holds.

None if the above.

Not even curious?

I’d guess some combination of concerned — and determined to continue to protect their kids and themselves from the ongoing toxic craziness.

Proof of life today

We all know that she's alive and well. She's not sickly and recovering.
It's divorce.

Bingo.

If it wasn’t and her FIL is dying of cancer you know she’d do anything/whatever it takes to get herself looking great and smiling/waving (even if sick/with a colostomy bag).

She’s not sick. There is no bag. King may not even have cancer - they are trying to deflect on the scrutiny that is inevitable as the dissolution negotiations go on and she’s phased out of royal life.

I think she likely is sick. Or was, and did in fact have a procedure done that required a hospital stay. I think it would be too hard to fake that, and also it would be way too risky for the RF to claim she was having surgery done if she wasn't.

But I also think something else is badly amiss and they were using the surgery and recovery to conceal it, but it went wrong. Either because Catherine is not participating in the ruse, or because the other issues are so embarrassing/upsetting that the palace has made a bunch of unforced errors in an effort to keep them under wraps.

This. She likely did have a minor surgery completed (maybe a removal of something?) from which she recovered quickly. The larger issue is the failure of W&C's marriage. Likely a huge deal because King Charles' prognosis is worse than they are letting on and the idea of William taking the throne as a divorcee with no queen consort could be disastrous. RF has been banking on the W&C love into the next generation. This is about to collapse. Kate is likely seeking terms for her cooperation the next few years. God knows if she can ever really step aside entirely. What would a William coronation look like without a (beloved) wife?

Would he be able to carry on like this at today’s event if that was the back story?

I mean... yes. William has made literally hundreds if not thousands of public appearances where he performed his duty, greeted family members, etc., while various serious and difficult things where happening in his private life, including recently making numerous appearances while his relationship with his brother absolutely fell to pieces and his brother moved out of the country and they no longer speak.

So... yeah. I think even if there is something quite dire going on, William would be able to show up at an official event (especially one where he doesn't need to speak and can just stand and watch and then disappear afterwards) even if his marriage was in tatters. This is basically what the BRF does, as a matter of course.

TBH, it's a bit sociopathic. And yes, the whole family is taught from a young age to rigorously compartmentalize. It's not healthy.

DP. Exactly. This is the man who, as a 15 year old, walked behind his mother's casket.

Pic today has W&K leaving Windsor in the Range Rover. Then Wills alone getting out at Westminster Abbey for Commonwealth Day. They did not expect Kate to attend - but where did they drop her off?

Something about this made me giggle. You're absoutely right though! We have all been there were we have to pull it together and push your personal life aside to finish work. In the end, he can't control Kate no matter how much he's trying. He can control his own actions and try the minimize the damage he's done.

+1

She is probably just fed up.

I'm sure she's fed up about something, but Kate has played the dutiful partner for decades--first as a girlfriend and now as a wife. It doesn't track that she'd become uncharacteristically uncooperative and refuse to be photographed just because she wasn't feeling or looking her best. This is the same woman who walked outside with her newborns in full makeup for a photo shoot only hours after they were born. She knows what she signed on for. She is definitely fed up, but it's not because she isn't getting privacy after a surgery nearly two months ago.

Does it track that the same dutiful partner you describe would even divorce, especially after all the recent family drama?

Yes because everyone has their limits. She has clearly has reached hers and is not cooperating anymore. Not only because of the public pressure but because of William and their team's horrid treatment of her.

this is quite the movie.

You can see the plaid in George's collar when you zoom in. I went into that video skeptical but it is George's outfit that actually seemed the most telling to me.

She spent months being referred to as a “royal racist” …after years of doing the right thing always. Maybe it finally broke her. I’m hoping it’s not true but considering they didn’t announce a hospital visit when it happened, it must have been something they didn’t want anyone to know.

It's not sociopathic. Or the BRF.

It's being British. And it's why Meghan, as an American, never stood a chance.

I think the pic is an old pic. At this point they are messing up messaging and PR so horribly it's becoming ridiculous. We get it, she probably looks bad post surgery. More transparency would have helped against speculation, more so than an old poorly-edited pic.
