If you have been paying attention, you know that the people of New Jersey have been freaking out of mysterious drones, described as the size of cars, swarming their neighborhoods late at night. They have been hovering above military institutions, nuclear power plants, other sensitive sites. Members of Congress have been asking law enforcement about it. The president has been briefed. No one has any answers, at least not any they want to share. The only thing they have shared is they don’t believe these are the actions of a foreign government and that there doesn’t appear to be any danger.
Come to find out they swarmed bases in Virginia for 17 days in October. Last night, they appeared over Bowie. https://www.fox5dc.com/news/mysterious-drones-spotted-maryland-officials-investigating I think I saw something about the West Coast too. But only in passing. Theories on what’s happening? Mine: 1) These are military secrets. The government knows because it’s our technology being tested. Or 2) Aliens. Duh. And we can’t shoot them down because we can’t. This is bordering on hysteria at the moment. We have a ways to go to peak hysteria but it’s coming. |
| Um, those are airplanes. People are losing their minds. They just never looked up before. That is what the planes landing and taking off at BWI look like at night. This whole thing is so ridiculous. |
|
Why don't they shoot them down? It's illegal to fly them over the federal airspace.
Another weak Biden admin move like the Chinese spy balloons |
| People are sooo incredibly dumb. It's painful |
| They're not "car sized". And if they are, they're not drones. |
OP here. Mass hysteria will do that. However I don’t think airplanes hover. Some of these are reportedly staying in one place for 30-45 minutes. But yeah, Occam’s razor and all that. Could also be flights from Andrews. Or if my first theory is correct … military drones from Andrews. Some people have been alarmed that they have hovered over military bases. But if they are a military thing that makes perfect sense. |
Car sized is the description used in reports to the cops anyway. Agree they could be exaggerated. Here is my concern: if they are airplanes what if some yahoo shoots at one. |
| Bowie does have a small airfield so the plane explanation makes so sense. There’s not much of national security interest there. But it does seem like it should be easy to see if people have been doing late night flights from the airfield. |
Yawn. |
The government is doing a terrible job calming the public they need to get on this and explain |
|
Bowie is restricted airspace, I think, but not closed. It’s right in the flight path for Freeway Airport, which is tiny but has a lot of little Cessnas and such in and out. There’s a flight school. They fly low over the Baysox games sometimes.
OP if you see something mysterious in the sky, you can look on FlightAware. https://www.flightaware.com/live/map There might be military flights missing but it’s still cool and helpful, especially if there’s a helicopter circling near you. You can see whose it is. |
Um. Biden shot down the Chinese balloons? Whatever are you prattling on about, simpleton? |
|
I fail to see how this is “bordering on hysteria” given that this is the first time I’m hearing about it, lol.
At any rate, I’m sure it is our technology. I really do want it to be aliens though. Even if they are going to attack us — I’m sick of all of this shit. |
| I live close to Dulles airport. On a clear night, If I'm driving north on 28, I can see as many as 10 planes coming in for a landing. They're all on the same flight path, separated by probably half a mile. They look like they're stationary, but are all flying straight toward the same runway at different altitudes. It's pretty cool. |
| They’re probably planes waiting to land at BWI. I have a house in AA county and we see them all the time. |
