Alexandria/Capitol Futsal Cup

Does anyone have a sense of when the schedule will be released? We are 5-6 days out, and need to make plans

Neverminde- I just scooped myself and searched on gotsoccer after I posted this.

Thanks! This is our first time. What is the competition like?

Lots of Alexandria teams playing other Alexandria teams- especially at the older ages.

a few years ago they got a lot of teams outside Alexandria but not anymore

You might want to take a break from talking to yourself to actually look at the posted schedules. Competition seems reasonably varied (multiple clubs).

Glad we are not doing it this year. The location is horrific, make sure not to bring anything of value and lock your car.

Thank you. That is exactly the case. It seems the prior poster must need help reading or is deluded.

There are some decent teams playing.

Isnt this the case with most Futsal Tournaments? It seems most futsal tournaments are good thru u11/u12 then it will really drop off

Kids need a break from overuse and generally kids that are really good at dribbling skills continue after u12 generally. Also, at u13 and up, the higher end teams still have games well into December and find it hard to do both. Despite those generalizations, FUTSAL clubs are growing in our area and that may grow FUTSAL participation past u12 in the future.

Also, the county schools are not permitting 'soccer' in the school gyms over winter this year and who know about the future. So, indoor training space is really being squeezed.

Except are you actually clicking the link?

Sure, the oldest boys bracket is smaller, but still two brackets and decent teams. Second oldest bracket clearly looks good. All the boy's age groups look ok for a local, winter futsal tourney.

Less familiar with the girls side, but turnout seems good.

Why doesn't NPC participate in this tournament though?

Ugh. Athletic Republic again. I hate this venue. Had my car window smashed one time we were there. Seriously do not leave anything of value in your car.

"higher end teams" is this a joke? Who is still playing in Dec?
