Kids need a break from overuse and generally kids that are really good at dribbling skills continue after u12 generally. Also, at u13 and up, the higher end teams still have games well into December and find it hard to do both. Despite those generalizations, FUTSAL clubs are growing in our area and that may grow FUTSAL participation past u12 in the future.

Also, the county schools are not permitting 'soccer' in the school gyms over winter this year and who know about the future. So, indoor training space is really being squeezed.

"higher end teams" is this a joke? Who is still playing in Dec?

Southampton Cup was this past weekend. Weston cup is mid February.

MLS Next, GA and ECNL & ECNL RL all have events in December. So yes, those u littles that play FUTSAL to round out their skills are usually unavailable to play FUTSAL at U13 and up when they join Higher Level Teams.

Woof...ever heard of ECNL and/or MLS Next? The season basically never ends. Just some advice...you probably shouldn't come at people like this since you clearly haven't experienced the top levels of youth soccer yet.

My son is u14 ECNL and the club takes a dim view of futsal. They have other outdoor events and never stop practicing throughout the week. Pretty much all of the boys stopped after U12-13.

Shocker ECNL takes that approach. Very soft league since MLSNext began lapping them 4 years ago.

What happened 4 years ago? Did West Virginia, Achilles, Ironbound and Keystone join MLS Next 4 years ago?

The girls landscape is going to reflect absolutely nothing other than which little kids parents have instagram for their nine year old. Mid ages most of the elite girls will be in Tampa, older, most will be in STL

Umm... actually you just made yourself look stupid. Who cares about ECNL? MLS Next league games all ended in November. MLS Next Fest ends this week.

This tournament has gone downhill. Some of the scores are absurd

Lots of angry looking Alexandria parents walking around. Did any of their teams perform well?
