| Three of the four tournament-semifinalists are of the NESCAC. https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/soccer-men/d3/2024 |
| NESCAC gets lots of love in D3 - considering there are over 400 men's D3 teams - its interesting to consider why only one conference gets all the love. |
|
Go Washington and Lee!
Only $82,000/year to attend |
On the women's side two UAA teams and no NESCAC. |
What do you mean by "gets all the love"? They had to advance to the Final Four, so clearly they were deserving of tournament bids. Go Camels! |
|
Estimated Cost of Washington & Lee Attendance Without Aid $91,700

Have you reviewed how teams are selected from each conference within D3 Men's soccer? Why does NESCAC have proportionally more teams than other conferences in D3 in the NCAA tournament? Typically teams are selected for the NCAA tournament in 2 ways - they won their conference championship OR they received an automatic bid. NESCAC gets more at-berth selections than any other conference. That's what "gets all the love means" leaving the vast majority of the 42 other conferences with only 1 bid. https://www.ncaa.com/news/soccer-men/article/2024-11-11/ncaa-division-iii-mens-soccer-committee-selects-2024-championship-field |
They are a real powerhouse program. |
| I thought it might be Mary Washington’s year. They lost in the 3rd round to Denison. Their only other loss this season was a 4-2 loss to UVA. |
Who follows Mary Washington soccer? Isn’t that an all girls school? |
You must be old. It has been co-ed for about 50 years. |
That’s cool bro. But seriously who follows Mary Washington soccer? Is it an intramural league? |
| People still look at the sticker price? No one pays that…. |
You’re on a thread titled Division III Soccer. Mary Washington was the top-ranked team in D3 at the end of the regular season and most of their players are from the DMV. |
There are also threads about rec soccer too. So what? |
