Give me your best sherbert punch recipe!!

Does anyone remember that punch that was served to 90s kids at events like award ceremonies at school where there would be a long folding table set up with potluck foods, topped off by a giant sheet cake with frosting flowers from Shopper's Food Warehouse and then the piece de resistance, the big glorious bowl of punch with an iceberg of sherbert floating in it. How do I make this punch in 2024? (Do people still drink this?)

Isn’t it just some two liters of sprite?

Yes dump sherberr into a pumch bowl. Add 2 liters of sprite

This is going to be interesting, OP. I imagine this may been as even more vulgar than pasta salad.

Anyway, the way I remember it was that you fill an entire punchbowl with Sprite, then drop an entire gallon container of lime or orange sherbet into the middle of the bowl. Add dry ice for a cool effect.

You can use ginger ale instead of sprite.

People also used to use jello molds to make ice rings filled with fruits to keep the punch cold.

Lime sherbert and ginger ale. I don't remember the proportions, but you could eyeball it.

My coworkers introduced me to this when they brought it to one of our get togethers. I had never heard of it before and I was a 90s kid! Sherbet in a big bowl and add sprite.

Sherbert of choice (we always did rainbow), ginger ale and a little OJ...delish!

Kroger Deluxe Pineapple Sherbert with Ginger Ale

Lime or rainbow sherbet, scooped into balls, and 2 liters of sprite or ginger ale.

And at the risk of being "that person", I'll only point this out because I only learned it last year and I'm still shocked that I was calling it the wrong thing for 40+ years ... it's sherbet. Not sherbert. There's no second R. Who knew???? (Yes I know dictionaries list both as alternate spellings because it's so common, but look at the side of the container - there's only one R.)

Has anyone added sherbet punch (raspberry + ginger ale for me, please!) to the “low-brow faves” thread? Because this is kid happiness in a bowl.

Absolutely use ginger ale instead of sprite. Hawaiian Punch, ginger ale, sherbet. Delicious.

What a memory! I also had fruit punch in mine.

I only made this in my 20s as a fun alcoholic punch in a big bowl. But I love the idea of it as a kids drink too - they would love the sherbet.

Agree with others - ginger ale, ice, some fruit juice like OJ etc.
