The situation is dire, and higher taxes are on the way.

I would hardly say it is dire. Property taxes are not that high here. I would gladly pay more for the services I get.

A million of that is probably defending the missing middle lawsuit. I assume that there will be at least a million more as they try to appeal the judge’s decision.

The cause is vast growth n in County budget based on the idea that retail and office tax revenues would rise forever. Instead, there are empty towers and lower assessments.

Cut "human services" and save a million or two by not shooting the deer.

Katie Cristol screwed up Arlington really good and then took off before the bill was due. Now she is working on screwing up Fairfax. She’s like that charlatan monorail salesman in the Simpsons.

There's no sign that any elected official is prepared to do any serious budget cutting, so we're definitely getting another round of property tax increases.

Arlington prefers trap, sterilize, and release. Although, they started studying the problem in 2021 to see if there a better alternative. In a few more years, you might have a count of the deer population from a few years ago. Fingers crossed!

I wouldn’t. Taxes have gone up so much since I moved here 25 years ago, and the schools are getting worse and worse since 1/5 of the county school population is ESL.

I oppose this. We have deer in our neighborhood park. they are used to humans and wont flee. It disgusting that someone would shoot them knowing that. Then once they do, the deer will stop trusting people and yes they can charge and injure people.

I also oppose this because of the number of people who use the park even if there are signs and ropes posted , It will only take one close call or worse before the program is ended. Arlington is too dense of an area for this kind of activity.

“ human-services funding, climate action, schools, new union contracts with police and fire personnel, and general inflationary pressures.”

What does climate action mean here in Arlington?

Schools- plenty of fat to trim in those budgets

Human services funding - not sure what that includes but likely there is fat to trim their too
