Their incompetence has put our kids in danger on the athletic fields. We need some new ones.

Just for starters, according to AI:
To remove an elected official in Virginia, including a Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) school board member, a recall petition must be filed and signed by 10% of the voters in the last election for that office: Collect signatures Recall supporters must collect signatures from residents in each district represented by the board member. File petition If enough signatures are collected, the petitions are sent to the circuit court for trial. Judge approves petition If a judge approves the petition, the Commonwealth's Attorney prosecutes the case. In 2021-2022, recall efforts against two FCPS school board members were dismissed by the Fairfax County Circuit Court: Cohen The petition was dismissed because it was "not based on facts sufficient to show probable cause for removal". Tholen The petition was deemed sufficient to go to a court hearing, but the case was dismissed after the Commonwealth's Attorney filed a motion to dismiss. |
| We can start getting the signatures at football games, then go to all the retired people in our neighborhoods and read passages from 1 of the 5 book Frisch swore on. |
|
It won't happen in a single party county like Fairfax.
The #openfcps got more than enough signatures to recall 3 school board members. A judge favorable to fcps threw it out on a technicality. |

Not happening.
Best we can do is try to pressure them to do their jobs better. |
+1 We tried it during Covid and it didn’t work sadly. |
| What makes you think that whoever replaces these people in this thankless job will somehow be better? |
Have you seen the kids on this team? As noted in the other thread they’re not even very big. Try a new rationale and see if that works better. |
Yeah good luck with that. The burden of proof in court is incredibly high. |
| OP have you watched any of the football games? Or are you just out here looking for an excuse to blame the school board? |
It's not a thankless job if you view it as the launching point of your glorious political career. It's only thankless when you try to actually do the job. |
How Ryan treated it his first go round How Ryan is treating is partially this go round That said, I really don’t like Ryan but I can’t deny his statement about how it all reached unacceptable behavior levels and people need to be held accountable gotta say for once, I’m with him |
| This is what the uproar has always been about. A fake way for MAGA to get their cronies on the SB. |
Did you ever think that "Let's see how many prom dates with high school students I can rack up" Ryan McElvan would come back to the school board as one of the only responsible adults on the board? |
