| Are all HS administering MAP tests to Seniors? Those that are, why? The students are on their way out so what is the damn point of giving this test to Seniors? |
| No. MAP testing pretty much stops after 10th grade, I believe. |
|
In HS, MAP is only supposed to be for 9th graders.
https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/siteassets/district/departments/sharedaccountability/testing/hs_assessmenttimeline.pdf |
But HSs did administer the test not only to 9th. |
It said they test 9th grade. Now 12th graders are taking the test???? |
| If you ask a teachers they say they were told to give the test by higher ups. |
Which schools? |
| If you ask department heads, they say it is a good data point to help assist students in registering for the following year's English or Math course. But they don't COMMUNICATE that they are administering the test to 10-12th grade students, as someone upthread linked they test 9th grade students. MAP for Seniors???? |
Definitely 2 out of 25 HS |
| The 9th grade MAP screens all kids because there are a lot of transfers in from private/homeschool/moving that MCPS doesn’t have any reading data for. It identifies kids reading far below grade level that need additional support. That subgroup may get additional MAP testing in 10th & 11th grades. |
Nah, they tested 10th grade students too who are not in those subgroup/s. |
| My kid said they stopped in 9th and none in 10th. |
| They can't even explain why they test Seniors. |
| They don't know what to do so they just test. |
| Did your school give an explanation why seniors were tested or plan to be tested? |
