Observations from mingling with the DC area elite

I have now attended several get togethers at the Chevy Chase Country Club. From an anthropological perspective, my observations are below:

- Everyone is good looking! I have seldom been in rooms with people who are all good looking!
- Everyone is fit and skinny! Including the older men and women! The older women are so fit and skinny minny!
- Everyone is so nice and gracious. The politest people I have socialized with in the US.

DC is full of ugly, nerdy people, so your meter must be askew.

They are Type-A strivers, so yes probably more fit than the average city.

They are definitely not nice and gracious; maybe fake nice at best.

Yes the gop may be prettier, but the trade off is their morals. But hey, whatever floats your boat, if you want to hang out with objectively bad people.

Yea I spend a lot of time in Chevy chase circles and this rings true op. Ignore the unkind posters above. A lot of that is generational wealth thus these folks don't need to work their butts off and can live life to the fullest. But they also are very polite and kind to others around them...now I have no idea what they're like behind closed doors but I also don't care. Everyone has skeletons but it's not "fake" to be a bit more gracious and polite in public....that's how our society works.

I wouldn’t call Chevy Chase Club as representative of DC’s elite per se, but your point is well taken. Unfortunately this post is going to attract the usual posse of haughty, self-important, utter losers that like to look down their nose at anything involving a country club.

Chevy Chase Country Club is in Illinois I think. Chevy Chase Club is in the DC area.

Rich woman in the DC area are not as attractive as women in the South (or CA), but, they are smarter. They look good because they can afford to dress well and take care of themselves.

That sounds nice OP. I have found all kinds of people among the DC elite/wealthy. People do tend to look better when they're wealthy..clothes, hair, teeth, posture, etc.

Indeed. The staff are even exceptional. It’s part of the overall charm. The sky shines brighter, the flowers smell better, literally everything is a step up when you cross the CCC threshold.
