Seems baffling to see matters of athletics be resolved in a court of law. But didn’t Stone Bridge in LCPS have a coach who also had kids transfer in a very shady fashion? Didn’t see much turmoil there tho, not sure why.

Other (possibly football) parents have explained on this forum that race and rival coaches complaining about the number of transfers may have to do with the current turmoil and legal situation. But I'm sure it's more complex than that. (There's already hundreds of comments in the other conversation, which isn't exactly sports specific and veers into discussions on FCPS conduct.)

Based on the sheer number of rumors about various programs over the years, I'd guess the issue is sheer numbers. Adding up Freedom transfers, private school transfers, and kids who weren't even in 9th grade yet (isn't that against FCPS policy though legal for VHSL?) they found 33 kids. I think they felt they had to deal with an issue that large and overt. The onesie-twosie rumors over the years are much easier to overlook.

An admin doing the transfer intakes and noticing it was a lot from one school was moved to another school after questioning it.

A kid following his coach to a winning program seems extreme to some but for for many of those kids, football is their ticket and playing on a winning team makes a difference if they want to get D1 eyeballs to see them.

But as long as the kids are actually moving address (which everyone agree that kids actually changed their residence), why are we trying to engage in mind reading and saying some of those moves were in bad faith and others were not?
