The great idea and ideal of the United Nations has been diminished because it had to include corrupt governments that have ruined the UN. I would love to see the United States withdraw its support and work with groups like Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam, Well Child and similar organizations to actually provide aid rather than grift corrupt countries. The Gates Foundation does much more than UNICEF already and smaller charities like Well Child are also effective.

He announced that he's going to nominate Stefanik. Technically the Constitution is still in effect although he has also said that he wont support a Senate Majority Leader that believes confirmations are required.

If you want sober analysis, I highly doubt that the US will pay its dues and the UN will be forced to figure things out. The 5th Committee negotiations will be very interesting next month.

Trump actually has not been very critical of the United Nations and he had a good working relation with the current UN"s SG. I do foresee some budget cuts in the future but that's about it. And the UN budget is bo early peanut compared to its mission. And Stefanik like most Ivy league grads view having a very high level political option at the UN as a thing of prestige. So the UN will be okay.

The UN is useless now with Russia able to veto everything. Friendly countries should withdraw from it and make their own thing. Invite others to some meetings but not to have veto powers.

There’s no reason the US can’t support the groups you mentioned. But the primary purpose of U.N. is not delivering aid.

With all of their ties to terrorism it is an abomination it still exists. There are other groups that can deliver aid.

That's the problem. The UN has insane mission creep.

The UN is a delicate place where enemies meet to try to de-escalate war.

The UN taking sides in wars is contrary to its mission.

The UN is goal is to prevent war, not be a love fest that ignores reality.
