what do you think is the least amount to lose that someone should try a glp-1 (assuming you're not against them overall). I imagine some of the celebs that use them are just keeping off 5 or 10lbs...they were never 30lbs overweight |
First off, you are required to be technically obese to use these meds so only targeting a few pounds will be meaningless given what you could end up spending. I’m on Wegovy and my target is to get to ten pounds under 30 BMI. I’m about 2/3 the way there after four months so I’m doing pretty well. |
Why aren’t you aiming for a normal BMI? |
What? Least amount to lose? No such thing. That is why BMI is used. |
20 lbs, but then once you lose it, you may want to stay on it out of fear that it will all come back. I've never been able to lose weight like this before, even when I was counting calories to stay at 1300 and had time to work out 1-2 hours a day, so I don't think I can maintain my current weight without it. Diabetes runs in my family, and though I have insulin resistance, I don't have type 2 diabetes, so insurance is no help.
Also, it's not hard to get anymore, but you'll have to do your own research. |
I did it to lose 20lbs but I would not recommend it: had bad side effects and weight came back. |
For better or worse they are plenty of online clinics that will prescribe with no reported BMI or easily allow you to mistate yours |
No clinics I’ve found. Can you name a few? |
I started with a BMI of 27.3 and now I’m down to 24. It’s only about 12lbs of weight loss, I’m very short. But I could not lose those 12lbs without it. I’d like to lose another 10 but doubtful I could do that, I’m kind of plateauing. |
Yes it is. I had to wait a week last month to get my Wegovy script filled because it was out of stock everywhere. |
Great idea. Lie to a doctor in order to have a drug with very serious side effects prescribed to you. When you don't actually have the condition it is meant to treat. |
Try Qsymia. |
The side effects have been very rough for me. Wegovy is not a walk in the park, by any means. |
What are the side effects? I'm seriously contemplating it after seeing two friends use it with great success, but I am leery of side effects. |
I used Zepbpund/tirzepatide to lose my excess weight. I had 30 pounds to lose to get to a healthy BMI, from 30 to the low 20s. I’ve lost 23 so far in 10 weeks and didn’t have to alter any of my lifestyle because I already live the lifestyle of a very fit and healthy person – 1400 cal a day, 100 g of protein, Three times a week weight training and daily walks in zone two cardio. I just needed a boost from the GLP one agonists. I’ve had very little side effects and was able to manage them all. I hydrate really well and consume lots of fiber to be sure moving everything like I need to, and my dose has stayed very low because I use the compounded version. You can buy it anywhere online and need to do some research. If everything goes well, and I lose all the weight and this helps me reset my metabolism, I will truly look on This is the best thing that ever happened to my health. |
