When Youngkin ordered school boards to be transparent about overdoses, they dropped dramatically.

| That’s a very easy answer: No. the board is not transparent with parents. |
|
Hah, you must be new to MCPS if you think they're transparent.
This is why we need a K-12 version of the Clery Act, which requires higher ed schools to report crimes that occur on campus. MCPS has no such requirement. |
| Honestly, admin aren’t transparent with teachers about overdoses. I’m at an MCPS middle school and there’s been plenty of fights, weapons, vapes/drugs , that I hear about only from colleagues who witness the incidents. With so many teachers new to the profession and the county, it’s a lot easier to keep issues under wraps. |

This is another reason the current board needs to he broken up with dissenting voices who aren't just trying to maintain the status quo.
There is no reasonable excuse for not alerting the community about drugs, over doses and crime. In fact it sounds like it's harming the students. |
Seems like it's not so much the board as it's central office administrators and communications people. |
Correct admins and central office are the main ones invested in suppressing this information. Probably because it could get them in legal trouble for violating legislation that obliges MCPS to maintain and run a safe learning environment. |
|
Its Dr. Taylor, the BOE and central office. |
So far Taylor has improved transparency as compared to McKnight and Smith. |
It's all. We voters only have direct responsibility for one. The board. |
No, he hasn't. |
He still has further to go, and he has said as much, but yes, he has. |
What exactly has he done? Held some listening sessions? That's not transparency. |
| No. |
