If lesbians have the highest divorce rate, aren't women equally responsible for the issues that happen in a hetero marriage?
On this forum in 99% of divorces I think we can safely conclude who is blamed. Is it in women's nature that they cant do no wrong in a marriage? |
| Source? Relative to cisgender hetero couples? Gay men marriages? Not exactly bowled over by your analysis, OP. |
| This is one of the weirdest posts I’ve seen here. |
|
“They cant do no wrong?”
Maybe stop day drinking, OP. Step away from the keyboard. |
| Are you trying to imply that lesbians have a male hormone that makes them more likely to divorce or something? |
| If it's true that lesbian women have higher divorce rate I honestly can't make any conclusion out of it. are you trying to say that 2 women in a marriage experience higher infidelity or are less likely to tolerate infidelity? Again I don't know |
|
I have a friend who is a divorce attorney. The reason why women initiate more divorces is because men are too lazy to initiate the process.
She also does estate planning and same thing - 95% of clients are women, because men are too lazy. With 2 women, you now have 2 people who are willing to file, rather than 1 who is willing and 1 who can’t be bothered. |
+1 I wouldn't call it laziness though. I think we men don't have the same sense of urgency women do for a lot of things. |
Interesting. My ex husband wanted the divorce but was too lazy/distracted/whatever to actually file the stuff. It was maddening. |
Or put another way, men are willing to put up with a lot more before they turn to divorce. |
Gonna need a stat on that one |
This is generally true. The only exception is infidelity. If a wife cheats on her husband when he comes out he is likely done with the marriage |
| Hasty generalization. |
Post weirdness aside (and agree it’s a weird one): - there is a valid sociological issue here; one worthy of study and likely a few research papers. Compared to heterosexual marriages in the United States, lesbian marriages exhibit an unusually high divorce rate, while homosexual male marriages exhibit the opposite trend. I don’t have answers. But it is a fascinating phenomenon nonetheless. |
And gay male marriages have the lowest rate of all; even lower than heteros. |
