What are you reading? November edition

Currently reading: A History of the World in 12 Shipwrecks, by David Gibbins. Really interesting and enjoying it so far.

DNF: Creation Lake, by Rachel Kushner. I do not understand the hype at all on this one. It was just bizarre. I gave it a good run and got 50% of the way through, then gave up.

I was trying to finish The Vampires of El Norte by Halloween but still have 100 pages left.

Then I had a motherlode of books on hold hit at the library last week, all due by mid-November:

Somewhere Beyond the Sea, TJ Klune

We Solve Murders, Richard Osman

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (Had this on hold FOREVER - wanted to read it before watching the show).

The Last Seance: Tales of the Supernatural - a short story collection from Agatha Christie. Also wanted to read this before /over Halloween but it just arrived from my holds (I was #1 on the hold list for 4 weeks!).

I'm reading Michael Connelly books, Detective Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer series. Some of the better written crime fictions.

The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley.

As an Iranian I am reading Tehrangeles...very entertaining.

I’m reading The Goddess of Warsaw by Lisa Barr. It’s a historical fiction about a Jewish WW11 assassin turned Hollywood star. So far, I am really loving it, although it is gut wrenching to read.

I’m the OP who DNF Creation Lake. I did not get this book. It was billed as a spy thriller, which is why I picked it up, but… that’s not what it was at all. I don’t know if I’d read any of her other stuff, in spite of the Booker Prize nominations, because Creation Lake was so weird.
