Christmas gift ideas for men

Please post your gift idea. I am desperate.

My husband loves x-country skiing, swimming, and Lord of the Rings.

However this thread is for ideas for any man.

53 yo man here. I've posted gift ideas in the past.

I don't know your price point, but in general, experiences are a good thing to spend money on for gifts for men. Concert tickets, a trip to a ski destination in your case, etc. Maybe to NZ if you can afford it to see the LotR sets. But that's all pretty high dollar, I know.

For myself, personally, the people who care about me know there are certain things I enjoy so they can always get me things in those categories. For example, I love hot sauces. There's no shortage of different kinds of hot sauces. Bonus: They have a low price point so even my teenage kids can feel like they're buying me something I will sincerely enjoy.

Spend a little time poking around the website Bespokepost.com to get a few ideas. For example, for a man who likes whisky there are cool decanter sets. For men who like camping, all sorts of accessories. The Flikfire concrete candles are neat -- what man doesn't like FIRE? All the stuff there is pretty masculine and unique. You don't need to subscribe -- much of it you can find elsewhere.

Surely there are X-country ski or swimming accessories you can buy (just check that he doesn't have anything). Maybe hunt for first editions of the LoTR books?

But experiences. That's generally the way to go unless he collects something, in which case add to his collection.

I get my DH fancy socks. Bombas and smartwool every couple years. And some books he likes.

I assume he has all the dvds with bonus features and whatnot for LoR, and the sequel/prequels?

DH also loves LoR. I got DH The Silmarillion by Tolkein, but he said it was a really hard read, more so than LoR. He still finished it, though.

DH also loves wine, so I've given him a wine from around the world subscription for a year. You could do the same for beer and such. But, it will depend on your state's regulation. MD now does allow wine delivery, but it has to be from a licensed alcohol store.

Things for the car; electronics; tools if he likes them (DH does, though you have to know which ones he has already). I got him a working glove that exposes just two fingers so he can feel what he's working on but protects the rest of his hands. He's always cutting his hand on something when he's working with his hands. Never fails. Flashlight snake so they can see down crevices; wrist magnet to attach screws, nails.. This all assumes your DH likes and does handy work around the house. Mine dose.

Tickets to a game, if he's into sports.

I admit, sometimes I run out of ideas, so I just recycle previous years ideas.

My DH swims (recreationally, for exercise) at the local pool early in the mornings - I just got him one of those swim parkas for his birthday for when it gets chilly. He was pretty excited about it.

This is the OP. My husband has everything associated with his hobbies and interests. That is why it is so hard. He absolutely loves x-country skiing. However, he has all of the gear and there is nothing more to give him. I think I have to go with experiences. Maybe a x-country skiing weekend somewhere fun.

I got custom posters made from this small business that were a big hit:
https://www.justgotravelstudios.com/products

The designs show national parks but you can customize them for anything - maybe a favorite crosscountry ski destination? I used pictures that had our kids in them and stylized them in an ap before sending them in.
