What happens next Wednesday?

Mods should merge but I didn’t see where to place this.

I know some people with something like insider information must be here. The leaked GOP internal polling shows that Trump and his campaign are aware that he’s likely to lose. But the rally at MSG was so vitriolic, and now he’s going to Virginia: people are assuming he’s there to ‘stoke anger.’ But to what end? The parties both have teams of election lawyers; those on the Democratic side specialize in this area of law and have excellent track records. I personally do not think the law enforcement officers tasked with watching polling places or parts of Washington, D.C., are going to sacrifice themselves to a mob or any chaos.

What does next Wednesday look like if this week, one side is trying to inflame its supporters? Will this be contained?

Riots.

If he loses, he wants to put public pressure on judges and ultimately the Supreme Court to pull another Bush vs. Gore and stop counting of ballots, invalidate vote totals or batches of ballots, etc. Anything they can do to toss votes, they will do it.

MAGAs will have lost their minds.

Ideally there will be enough states that allow their local election clerks to tally absentee/EV ballots in advance, so their SOTS will be to report out their numbers on election night and one of the candidates will net 270 EC votes, if not more. I believe the PA GOP legislature, perhaps WI, still does not allow their local clerks to tally the absentee/EV votes upon receipt so that could be an issue. IDK if MI fixed this after their legislature swung to the Dems in '22.

Prior to '20, recording ballots as received was best practice in election administration. GOP legislatures in MI PA and WI, however, rolled back these practices that year with the hopes of creating a red mirage on election night and throwing the election to Trump.

The leaked memo I read about showed the same information as the public polling which is that the swing states are toss ups. At this point all anybody can say is that it's 50/50.

I think there will be violence either way but not necessarily next Wednesday. I think it will be all the way up to January 20 and beyond.

If Trump wins left wing people will protest, mostly peacefully, but some people (antifa/Proud Boys/who the f knows will take advantage and loot and riot and attack the peaceful protesters (you know, the "enemy from within").

If Harris wins I don't know, I think it will start with BS legal challenges and physical attacks on election boards, and then build up into insurrection episode 2 in January.

I expect we won’t know the outcome next Wednesday and it’ll take a couple more days. Then this happens: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1220623.page

I think the inner cities will riot if Harris loses.

The difference is that we all saw the GOP’s playbook in 2020/2021 (and I am counting the right wing provocateurs that spent the summer before lighting fires and causing violence in order to drive a narrative of a country in flames). We know they are happy to foment a coup, and I am sure Biden/Harris and all thinking governors have plans in place to keep the peace, and they will want to keep the peace. Trump and his weird desire for chaos aren’t in office right now. The Guard would be called up as they were on January 6th/7th to be sent wherever they’re needed.

The maga hyenas know this is probably one of their last big chances. I guess it behooves all of us to have groceries and everything we need for a few days just in case they decide to maga our country. Hopefully enough of our fellow Americans have had enough of the GOP’s insulting and dividing us and vote for Harris/Walz.

Unlikely. Based on early vote returns, they seem to be pretty indifferent about this election.

MAGAs are not very hopeful of winning, I dont think they are going to be very surprised.

Why are they indifferent?

What leaked info showed Trump is likely to lose? I haven’t seen anything. He leaked internals that had him ahead in swing states, but all of the states are very close and will depend on turnout.

Just like in 2016, right?

She’s trailing badly, the polls give Trump a small edge, but as we have seen , R’s do better on Election Day than polls indicate, so this could be a blowout. Wednesday will be like any other day, unless the antifa nuts and the she-males go crazy

She isn’t trailing anywhere and you wrapped up your shitpost like a true lunatic. Congrats?
