He then fled from the police:
https://www.fox5dc.com/news/17-year-old-steals-moped-gunpoint-flees-police-dc Doesn’t say what happened after they arrested and charged him. |
| I believe they are required under DC law to release him if he’s 17. |
| He’ll plead to a misdemeanor theft and a misdemeanor gun possession charge and receive probation. |
He was already released. Same day. |
|
Wonderful! I will look forward to seeing him in my rearview mirror as he rushes my car at a stoplight near, say, the 930 club.
If only I could hand out Wrap Around Services from a bowl like Halloween candy. I would gladly give him some! <3 <3 |
Before or after he wraps his hands around your neck? |
| You would think the DC police would know better than to pursue a moped driver. |
|
Although, now that I'm thinking about it, THIS could actually be a fantastic and synergistic opportunity!
We could get waves of teenage carjackers to shift their focus to the swarms of illegal moped suicide drivers. win <-> win kind of like how i grudgingly tolerate the occasional spider in the house because I know they're helping me by eating / controlling mosquitoes |
Where did you read this? |
| Sadly it seems like the only way the carjacking situation will improve in DC is for people to start concealed carrying in their vehicles. |
DP What? You’re surprised? You can’t believe it? Yeah, he was released later day. Count on it. No extenuating circumstances? No fatalities? Just an armed robbery? Yeah, he walked a few hours later |
| Got to love the DC catch and release program. Should get 15-20 for committing a crime while armed. |
How so? |
Incredible. This should be a scandal. But it isn’t because this is exactly how they want criminal justice to work. Meaning that there is no accountability and no justice. In Montgomery County, four teens from ages 13-17 jacked a car in Bethesda with a gun. The one teen who is 17 is being charged as an adult. The others will probably only get slaps on the wrist thanks to Gov. Moore implementing similar soft of crime laws for criminal teens in MD. But at least in MD a 17 year old will get taken seriously. For now. |
| When the police released the 17 year old, did they give him back his handgun? |
