Will Taylor fire McGuire?

Anonymous
He should. But I doubt it because I'm sure he knew that she was part of the previous regimes and that's precisely why he hired her, cause he thought that experience would be helpful to him. It's looking more like a liability to me.

Only if the BOE leadership tells him to. Otherwise he'll gloss over it like he does everything else.

MSDE says he's lying about the alleged construction funding clawback

Weird. Not sure why the original post in this thread was deleted?

Can you summarize what the original post said? I agree McGuire is a poor choice for this position. Shame on Taylor and BOE for not naming the people responsible for these multiple contract issues

Basically it recapped the fact that Essie had a hand in both the EV bus fiasco and now the CIP mess. I didn’t see anything controversial in it…

Full disclosure: I know Essie personally and respect her, most people who have worked with her do.

What evidence did it present for blaming her for these things? I think it's quite problematic to denounce a public servant without evidence.

In other words she was MCPS chief of staff at the time these things were done.

It really just sounds like you have an axe to grind against her.

She was not chief of staff at the time of both instances. She was an MCPS Associate Superintendent of Operations in both documents. Are you illiterate?

Wow, you are horrible.

She was not working for MCPS when they failed to enforce the contract. She supported the contract itself, but as I understand it the problem was that MCPS didn't enforce the contract.

Calling for Essie to be fired for this is beyond the pale.

The CESO audit details the many problems with the contract she approved.

Your ire should be directed at the general counsel.

There’s plenty of ire to spread around. Essie deserves some.
