| It's so good but I can't recall if it was smoked or not? Would just a thinly sliced Boar's Head work? |
| Canadian. |
| Jambon de Paris, usually. I love it, but then I'm Parisian and was raised on it. Usually it's not smoked and has a very mild flavor. |
|
French ham, Jambon de Paris. I don't see it listed at locally at WF. A place in NYC.

| Any neutral thin shaved ham. Not smoked or honey..just regular |
Thank you! Is there a specific brand you like that's easy to find in the States? |
No, I've never found the equivalent at my local grocery store, sadly. But maybe you can try online specialty food markets. Here I get slices of the those large bone-in hams, preferably as neutral as possible (no smoke, honey glaze or special spices) and the taste will be OK. |

Would this Boar's Head ham be a suitable substitute?
Branded Deluxe Ham It all started with Branded Deluxe Ham. Slow cooked for a tender taste, this was our very first product and continues to be a favorite today. https://boarshead.com/products/ham/102-branded-deluxe-ham-shattuck |
| I once read that Virginia ham is a good sub. But I can’t pull up the citation. |
| The closest I've found (French person here) is slow cooked uncured ham. |
| If you have to ask...sigh. |
Skip Boar's Head. Listeria. Remember? |
I mean it’s kind of the point of this entire food forum. You could enlighten us instead of just being passive aggressive though. |
| Boar's Head would be last on my list right now. |
Yeah, you sure you want Boar’s Head? |
