I was someone who HATED exercise. I was naturally thin my whole life so I never considered it a necessity to my wellness. As I entered my thirties I noticed I felt less...nimble and felt sluggish and bloated. I began taking barre and then Pilates and long daily walks in addition to a few days of weight lifting.
I feel so good. I feel fresh, nimble and young! Exercise is the best way to feel young! I no longer think of it as punishment and instead as necessary me time. |
I'm sorry it took you so lobg to realize its benefits, but happy to read that you enjoy it now. |

Barre rekindled my love of exercise. The mind-body connection really works for me---harkens back to my gymnastics days, many moons ago. |
OP, I'm with you. Just a year ago, I kicked off an earnest exercise routine. I'm 50. I had worked out regularly prior to having kids, but once kids came into the picture, between work, their care, and broken sleep, I lacked both the time and the energy to exercise. So here I am 1 year later -- stronger and looking pretty much the same, but good. Some nagging aches and pains I had have resolved, perimenopause symptoms have been totally manageable, and I look forward to exercise as something that will have me feeling better vs. something that will sap what little energy I have left. Weightlifting was what is making the difference for me. I've really been enjoying it, vs. the HIIT and more cardio-focused stuff I had tried in the past. |
NP here. You should consider getting some exercise. It improves mood and makes people nicer. |
I'm this way too. Exercise was a punishment until I started running in my 30s. It's amazing, and now I eat to fuel my exercise. My life revolves around my workouts. WTG OP! |
