I think USSF is waiting on us to get there and then they will give us what we want! |
That's exactly why it's useful and appeals to so many people. Covers such a wide range of possibilities. |
I hesitate to share this rumor because of the reaction when I said the joint statement was coming out on the Wednesday after the AGM (I was right), but here it goes.......... My understanding is that USCS/USYS/AYSO are working on a set of "universal" transitional rules for next year - and those rules should come out in the next month or two. The benefits for having the rules the same rules in place for everyone (except MLS) are obvious. What those rules end up being - who knows. That's what negotiations are for right. |
Its pretty cllear thats what the last ECNL poscast was about making happen. |
Yep and explains why it's been radio silence since the AGM. They agreed by the end of Feb to the 26/27 age bracket change. Now it's taking another number of weeks to decide on how to manage the transition to 26/27. We all know you don't need 18 months to move players between teams. |
Just be good enough for MLS Next and none of this matters
|
Any potential changes for 25/26, if there are any, have to be within the club. So, in case there is a change for 25/26, it will be announced after all the leagues finish the tryouts and 25/26 teams are formed. So ECNL will not offend other leagues and the plan can be approved by USSF. |
USYS largest league already announced Fall 25 will be the last season of BY with all teams in 9/1 by spring 26. So it’s not surprising this is going to be a trend in other leagues as well. |
My point is if you are a good Q3/Q4 GA players, go to ECNL tryout. If there will be a change, you have a higher chance to make the NL team. |
|
It definitely sounds like they want everyone to commit to a team before they let the cat out of the bag and then limit changes to inner club.
Otherwise you could have clubs completely killed off. |
ECNL teams will definitely try to get as many good SepQ4 players as possible. Whoever gets the most will have a higher chance for the 26/27 playoffs and attract more good players. |
| Yup. |
| They've already committed though. Our club is saying age group changes are coming in 26-27 and where it makes sense to prepare for those in 25-26 they will, which will essentially be all the U-littles who on top teams are all playing up anwyay. |
The thread title might as well be “General Interests” |
How are they doing this? Current Q4 players asking if they want to play "down" or are they holding tryouts with those ranges? |
