I kind of want to get a tragus piercing. I’m 42. Is this a ridiculous/sad/pathetic move?
DD14 wants to get her ears pierced (traditional lobe piercing) and I thought we could get it done together. |
You will always have a hole there. So it might sound great now, but are you going to want this at 60? I got double piercings and now that I'm older I don't want them. But they have never closed up entirely.
I just got a helix at 52. I don’t care if it makes me sad/ridiculous/pathetic. Do exactly what you want. It sounds fun to make it an outing with your daughter.
I don't think a piercing looks good there.
Totally a personal choice. You seems too ambivalent if you have to post.
I did this because my DD who begged to get her lobes pierced started to chicken out. So I got my cartilage pierced first. I didn't realize though that cartilage piercings take forever to heal though, like a year.
I don’t think you will care that you have a hole there when you’re 60. My only hesitation would be that it takes forever to heal.

Interesting point on the healing time - I will consider that!

If you want it, get it. Most people won’t notice so I wouldn’t worry about what others think.
Why not get a second lobe piercing?
You surely are not too old. A dainty ring would look great.
The healing really isn’t a big deal, just don’t sleep on that side. If you decide to take it out in 15 years, it’ll just look like a little freckle. No reason not to do it if you want to.
Do what you want.
Thank you! To Pp, I have quite small lobes so I’m not sure a second piercing would look good! -op |
you should go and get it! it will look good and a 2nd lobe will look good too
