She sounds insufferable |
| Whoa, that's a nutso response. She could have said she preferred the unaltered poster image because of blah blah - but her over-the-top rant just sounded ridiculous. |
| Bizarro-world |
|
Ridiculous but so many actors are. This should have been below her notice.
I wonder at what point it will become the norm for actors to NOT have personal social media (at least not public). It exposes how often they are uneducated and kind of dumb. |
| If I did the edit I'd just say "sorry, I was focused on the beloved graphic and intended no offense." Then deleted it, easy peasy. It's ok for the actress to hate it and be offended but she should also make an effort to grasp the intention was initially harmless. |
| Dumb as a box of rocks. |
| Is anyone even watching this? I know I wasn't even before this. |
|
I kept seeing headlines about this and finally clicked on one expecting to find a racist, sexual or horrific poster. What I found was two posters, one which I couldn’t tell which one was the real one and which was the edit.
There was nothing wrong with the red lipped edit in fact it looked really nice. As an artist/actress, I’m surprised she had such a strong reaction to somebody’s artful imagination of a poster. But all it shows you is that this is a very dramatic, dumb as a rock person. Very good very good that’s blue. She must be very difficult to be around in real life. |
|
Can someone ask, "Hey, are you okay?"
She needs to calm down |
|
People are being more dramatic in the comments than she was in her reaction. The play poster is intentionally generic because it isn't made to be changed every time a new actor is hired. The movie poster showed both actresses' faces because they're the stars of the show, and there won't be any substitutions. Hiding most of their faces does erase them and revert to just showcasing the idea of the character, which makes sense for Broadway but not for a movie.
She was hurt to be erased from a movie poster where she's the main character, and I don't think it's crazy to say that out loud since people were probably asking her about it. Her reaction certainly doesn't make her unintelligent, even if it does seem sensitive. |
Agreed. I'm not sure why everyone is jumping to "stupid/dumb" more than diva/recognition obsessed |
Why should the artist apologize? It’s probably some kid from tumblr who loves Wicked and was practicing their photoshop skills to recreate an iconic image. CEs response was insanely over the top and discouraging to these types of aspiring artists. Because it doesn’t match her interpretation it’s wrong and offensive? She should have just said she preferred the movie version because of the focus on the eyes. Also, it’s possible to communicate without words or eyes. The broadway version demonstrates that with a coy smile. |
|
This is over the top, but if that's the most offensive thing she's seen, I guess she's very lucky?
"This is the wildest, most offensive thing I have seen, equal to that awful AI of us fighting, equal to people posing the question, 'is your ***** green.'" |
| Trying a little too hard to stay relevant and important. |
+1 I’ve lost interest in a lot of celebrities because their sm posts are so dumb and self-absorbed. I follow none now. |
