How do I shrink my waist specifically?

Background: losing baby weight finally, combo of zepbound (so eating less) and working out (orange theory 3-4x a week including one exclusively “strength” class, yoga a few times). I have lost twenty pounds since July, and am losing inches in my hips, bust, and thighs, but NOT my waist.

I did have diastasis recti so wondering if this is a cause. But in any case, it’s very annoying and I would like to shrink my waist. Is there anything I can do?

(I have never had a particularly defined waist but am an hourglass, and historically my bust/hips were 40 inches and waist was 30 inches. Now bust/hips are about 42 inches but waist has been 35 inches for a year.)

Waist is one of the last places to lose fat. Eat less carbs, eat more meat, lose more fat.

How much do you weigh? I have lost 10 lbs in the past 2 months and my pants size went from 32 to 30. All diet. Not meant to be offensive, but it sounds like you have more weight to lose if you’re still in plus size pants. Stay on the zip bound and it will eventually help your waist.

I weigh 165, and wear a size 12.

I am planning to continue losing weight: GW 135-140. This last pregnancy was a doozy, and I ended up insulin-resistant.

I'm 125 lbs and my waist never fully went back after 2 kids. My body is just different than it was before.

Gestational diabetes that went undiagnosed (and therefore untreated) until the very end. Pretty scary actually.

This is OP and I get that, but I had two kids before this one (they’re a little older) and I pretty well got my previous figure back. I guess it will just take more time and effort (esp now that I am in my late thirties )

Its the diastases. Your muscles moved further apart and weakened so no losing of weight will move it back without something else.

Try the every mother workouts for the DR. They worked very well for me.

My ribcage never returned to before kids size, and that made my waist at least 2” larger permanently.

Oh, in your late 30s – hon it may never go back completely. Your body changes due to hormones and the “late” pregnancy doesn’t help with that. It doesn’t mean that you won’t lose the weight, your body stores fat differently with the hormones.
