I have a nice room and board glider/rocker chair. My kids are older and I don't need the glider function anymore. I would like to move the chair to my home office. Would it be possible to remove the glider parts and put feet on it somehow? TY
It is similar to this: https://www.roomandboard.com/catalog/living/chairs/lily-chairs-and-ottoman |
Flip it over and look at the framing. If it is wood, perhaps so if you are handy. If it is all metal, then judging by you asking this, you'd have to hire a competent metal fabricator willing to do the job. Would probably cost you more than a new chair. |
| I’m not clear if you want the chair to have legs to be taller — or if you don’t want to rock/glide. If it’s the latter, check to see if your chair allows you to lock the glide function. Many do, and there are also instructions online for many types of chairs. |
I do not want it to rock/glide. It takes up too much space this way and hits the wall when you get up. I does not appear that there is a way to lock it. I just wanted to put some legs on it so I can still use the chair in a stationary way. I suppose I could try to sell it but it has sentimental value so I would like to repurpose it. |
