Sometimes when I turn right I hear a weird thumping/rattling noise from the back right wheel area. It's not every time, it doesn't seem to matter what the speed is
Just got car back from shop, and they gave a clean bill of health, no issues with brakes/control arms/heat shields, struts Your thoughts? |
| Does it still make noise after mechanic looked at it? |
| Did you ask the mechanic to take the car out on the road and make specific turn in hopes of simulating the sound? |
|
Be happy they didn't find anything wrong or make up something that needed to be replaced.
Where did you take it? |
| When my transmission fluid gets low, I hear weird sounds when I turn. |
This is common. So add more fluid. |
Not yet but it wasn't every time I turned. They said when the sound gets more frequent to bring it back |
They did a fluid check and brake check |
Are you talking the REAR passenger wheel in the back of the vehicle, or the "back area" of the FRONT passenger wheel? If it's the front wheel, it's hitting some plastic shielding in the wheel-well when turning that direction. If it is the rear wheel, which does not turn, then it must be something else as it wouldn't be that wheel on just right turns, but intermittent. The only parts that might be loose on the rear wheel would be brake related, so if you are turning right and riding the brakes at the same time, that's the issue on the rear wheel, unless you have a drag axle that is broken. |
| Still have the noise, sometimes |
Yet you didn't answer any questions or give more info. Hmmmmmm, just trying to boost forum activity? |
