DS fall MAP-M 276 and MAP-R 241. He is interested in Global Ecology program in Poolesville ? Does he stand any chance for either Ecology or SMACS ? |
Yes those are qualifying.
241 R is on the low end for humanities but more than fine for Ecology when matched with a high math like that. |
276 is a little bit too low for comfort but it should be enough. Map r is useless and make sure you list science and math ecs
|
What is the criteria for global ecology ? Do they consider both MAP M and MAP R ? |
My kid had 274 MAP M and 243 MAP R. Got accepted to both global ecology and SMACS and ended up taking SMACS. |
You must be a really unhappy person to always be trying to psych out others who are just trying to help their kids in earnest. |
Do they consider MAP R For SMACS ? |

I'm pretty sure yes they consider both because the core classes are both in science and history. I do think your child has a chance. The scores are within range. |
+1 Our DD's scores were similar but slightly lower math, slightly higher reading. Admitted and attending ecology which was her top and only choice. Did not apply to the math and science and humanities programs. |
Thanks for all your responses. Fingers crossed ! |
Op, which grade is your kid in now? Are you talking about applying for next year? |
When is the deadline to apply? |
Those are fine scores, OP. My daughter had 274M and 253R and was invited to all three houses as well as RMIB. She chose SMCS and has no regrets. |
What map-r scores are needed for poolesville humanities program? Does anyone know? |
