I love San Pellegrino but I think I drink too much. I switched from plastic to glass bottle but wonder if this can cause kidney stones and should switch to regular filtered water.
I don't like drinking anything out of plastic bottles if I can avoid it. |
No, in fact the opposite https://www.healthxchange.sg/women/urology/urinary-stones-drink-sparkling-mineral-water |
Plain or flavored? |
Flavored causes sugar level to go up. Or it says "Natural Flavor" which can mean a lot of things including unhealthy items. Another point is to drink about a glass bottle as plastic bottles are not good for health. The pieces of plastic from the cap may be in the water. |
What? There’s no sugar in most flavored sparkling waters. It’s a flavor essence with no calorie or sugar content. |
No. |
I think the carbonation is hard n your tooth enamel. |
No. That is a myth. |
Only if that’s all you drink. |
I just heard a podcast where a scientist said that the oxalates in spinach, potatoes, almonds and tea cause kidney stones if you don’t get enough calcium. |
Interesting. My father got kidney stones in the 80s when he was living on Snapple iced tea, and his urologist told him to cut it out. |
That might be more to: sugar than tea itself. Beef and Eggs can cause kidney stones but who's to say what's accumulating in the kidney? and Calcium absorption from milk is not guaranteed your body could be flushing the entire drink out. It's not an easy question to answer. |
+1. It 100% makes my teeth sensitive after I go on a sparkling water bender. |
Not that person that mentioned it, but "fake sugars" wreak havoc on insulin and receptors, often worse than real regular sucrose. NEVER eat anything with fake sweeteners if you value your health and brain health as well, since many are also chemically related to neurotransmitters and mess with the brain's chemistry and balance. Stevia, saccharin, splenda, etc. all bad. |
Does anyone think either the chemicals that line seltzer cans or their “natural flavors” might be bad for us? Someone mentioned this to me the other day and it made me wonder. |
