What liberal arts colleges favor girls?

Not Stem, Not business, not all women

Or just has a more equal M/F applicant pool.

None. Women are overrepresented applicants.

It is inevitable that most colleges will have a 60/40 or worse distribution because that is the rate of enrollment overall between men and women.

They all favor girls. If it's 50/50, it means they are favoring boys. There are fewer boys applying.

If you want a reverse balance, look at small engineering schools, the one place where the male applicant pool is larger than the female applicant pool.

I don't think any LACs actually favor girls under the criteria you've given. That said, if you look at the Common Data Sets for individual LACs, you may find that some get more proportionally even applications from the genders than others. For example, Wesleyan's applicant pool is 60% women, who are admitted 16.3% of the time (as opposed to men, who are admitted 18.2% of the time). Whereas, at Williams, the applicant pool is merely 51% and its 10% admit rate applies nearly evenly among the genders. In other words, women are marginally less disadvantaged at Williams than Wesleyan. Honestly, I think that's the best you'll find.

I don’t see why a lac would favor women. They apply in abundance.

The answer is none. There are far more girls applying to liberal arts colleges today. Most boys prefer larger universities or are interested in the STEM majors - engineering, CS, pre-med. Plus, there are fewer boys that are college ready these days. Ergo, any boy that wants to be a humanities major at a small liberal arts college is going to have an advantage over girls. Because there just aren't very many of them.

But a girl interested in engineering or CS will have an advantage over boys at most universities that continue to try to maintain 50-50 parity. It comes down to supply and demand.

Not that many premed boys. That’s a woman’s domain!

The women’s colleges, that’s it.

But the boys still need to make the cut. Maybe they go as low as they are comfortable in the filed, but in the end they are admitting more girls, not 50/50. So in the end, more girls are getting in than boys.

Yeah, but it was incoherent.
