Nut substitute for this salad?

I’m bringing a kale salad with cranberries and red onion and an orange juice-olive oil dressing to a potluck at work tomorrow.

Usually, I add pecans, but a coworker is very allergic to nuts. What can I substitute?

Pumpkin seeds. They’re an ingredient in a similar salad I make (along with pistachios but we’re allergic). The pumpkin seeds are a great crunch and delicious

Olives, cheese?

Agree with pumpkin seeds, or sunflower seeds as second choice.

If you're subbing for candied pecans, I'd do candied pumpkin seeds in little clusters, or granola if you're in a rush.

If you're subbing for plain pecans, I think you're going to want both crunch and sharpness of taste. I might do some kind of roasted chickpea with spices. I love pumpkin seeds in salad, but they are more mild tasting than pecans.
