Harris peeks out of her bubble to talk to MSNBC.

Is there a fact check available? At this point, it’s hard to tell which of the lies of either candidate includes some truth.

She was fine. I don't get the complaints. Is it that she isn't talking about Sharks and mythical cannibals?

Q6: Unions. Trump talked about unions but did little. Unions did well recently. What did Teamsters not endorse?
A: Other unions like me. I'm great. Trump screwed the pooch in Lorsdestown. Trump 20% tariffs would be a sales tax. $4000/yr
Q: Biden has tariffs too.
A: Trump is unserious. Just throws words around at rallies. No plan. Repeats her tax credit and homebuyer credit. Startup tax deduct.

Q: Stopping Price gouging without price controls?
A: Yes I'll go after gougers.

Q: immigration. We're at capacity. Communities are stresses.
A: border security (not what question asked). Will retry the border bill Trump killed.

Q: big jobs / small jobs
A: I worked at McDonald, but as a kid. But some people work there to raise a family.

Q: President makes gut calls. Do you make gut calls? Example?
A: picking Tim Walz

Q: Trump on women. "Protector".
A: Trump killed Roe at SCOTUS (softball to give Harris a strong close)

Q: Can we trust you?
A: Yes

Harris is sane, has a few specific proposals, but spends most time on selling her personality and upbringing, and attacking Trump for being Trumpy, not her performance or plans.

She's trying to play it safe, and let Trump lose. But she's not giving much to the people who know Trump is a moron but are voting for party/cabinet not the person. I think that's why she's not winning.

If this is your standard, then you have a much higher bar for her than for Trump. Judge them on the same standard and the comparison isn't close, but if you are going to grade Trump on a curve, then that is the bias coming through.

She provided information regarding her economic plan and compared and contrasted that to Trump's.

Regarding the tax structure, yes,of course the idea is there would be a revision to the tax code with support of the House and Senate. That should be obvious.

regarding housing, she has already talked about this before - she wants to provide block grants to states and cities and has now added the idea of incentivizing development around transit, which makes a lot of sense and builds on policy from the Obama Administration. You can say "blah blah" but when Hillary and Elizabeth Warren got into wonky explanations, they got called wonky and people shouted "b-o-r-i-n-g" so it is a no win here. This was a short interview, how much detail are you looking for?

On US Steel - she makes it clear she wants US Steel to remain in US ownership.

Feels like a repeat of the debate but without Trump

More important are exciting "the base" - that is how Biden and Obama were successful. Chasing after the mythical indpendents is a fools game and why Hillary lost.

Are you saying they have different higher standards for Harris than they do for Trump?
Anonymous
Harris August strategy was to take over for Biden, win Democrat support, build enthusiasm, and raise a ton of money and volunteers. Fine.

Now it's late September. She needs to spend that money and volunteers convincing moderates that she has something to offer.

Yes!! A million times yes!!

Trunp;: They're eating the cats!

You: that's crazy, immediately disqualifying.

Them: I don't know about cats, but they are crashing cars and not speaking English, and they're kind of weird, and it sure is hard to get a good job.

Her job is to win. she does that by getting more people registered to vote and getting those voters to execute their ballots. If she can get independents and "never Trump" republicans, then all the better. Her job should not be to pander her vision to the middle. If "independents" want to vote for Trump, then we will get the country we deserve.
