How is an ECNL-RL team better than a GA1 team? Sounds like something only an -RL parent would say.

If your kid would play ECNL rl instead of GA… you need to be checked out lol

EcNL RL and GA are literally the same level. The only difference in our area was FCV and that was based on history and BP. Playing ecnl RL is getting the same level of competition without driving far distances.
Both are not going to have many coaches at their events. ECNL is at least leveraging their NL events to try to get coaches at the RL events. The recruiting will be done for GA and ecnl RL teams at the mixed events like wags, Bethesda, ncfc, and Jeff cup. At those levels, you will need a coach that has college connections. None of the ga coaches have that or they would be coaching in the ecnl.

That’s just false. This is the GA event in Florida in March. https://girlsacademyleague.com/champions-cup-finals/

There are far more colleges attending than would for any RL event

You're also grabbing the Champions Cup college attendance and comparing to a general ECNL-RL list. Champions Cup is the top/best clubs in the GA nationwide, so there's talent concentrated in that group, which draws in the colleges. How does the GA Spring Showcase (April in NC) compare to a typical ECNL-RL showcase attendance?

Can SYC even attend the Champions Cup this upcoming year? Isn’t there a probationary period before they are allowed to since they are a new club?

But their teams will make playoffs!

Please. Go. Away.

The merger of Brave and Union eliminates the worst ECNL teams.

And the problems at FCV combined with the dilution of the GA by creating new teams in area makes it a questionable product at best.

83 pages summed up. I’d say until someone has the link to the tryouts or coaches, this horse is dead

What happens when Union and Brave girls get 48-hour offers on March 2 or March 3? FXU would be smart to have their ID sessions next weekend if they don’t want to lose a lot of talent by next Monday. But I don’t see FXU moving that fast. Last year it took Union players multiple sessions over multiple days before the Union coaches got themselves together and made offers even to the girls you know would make the team.

So it’s probably a good thing that it’s a completely new club, with a new combination of coaches and administration.

No real offers are 48 hour offers if they want your kid. None of them

Exactly… still considering 2023 offers for the post season!

The BRAVE girls teams were/are awful. This is probably a positive for a few of those players - some of them will latch on to the bottom of the rosters of actual ECNL teams now.

So for those posters blaming the merger on Brave’s performance, how do you account for the timing here?

If ECNL really drove this for that reason, they had plenty of time to prepare. The imaginary 2 years weren’t even up (they’ve been playing for 18 months), and even if they were, ECNL would want to retain as much talent as possible, so would give more notice, rather than rush this right as GA and ECNL ID sessions were happening.

On the flip side, we have SYC unexpectedly pulling out from Union last month, and Union suddenly losing their main talent pipeline. I guess that’s supposed to be a coincidence?

Read the thread. Three of the four youngest Brave girls’ teams prove otherwise. Collectively, those teams have a winning record.

SYC will end up looking good in the rearview 2-3 years from now.

ECNL isn't bad but it's not setup for mid level clubs to do well.

Parents are starting to see through the BS and understand that GA is a viable alternative.

SYC coaches are trying soooo hard. SYC will have some wins at u13 and u14 just like they do at u9-12 but real coaching and tactics will come into play at the older age groups and they don’t have a coach right now that will improve that.

2-3 years from now the GA will fold into the ECNL-RL as the smart clubs realize that it will be the only viable option to get into the ECNL NL.

This is where you have things backwards. GA is good at the top. As good as ECNL. At the middle -- ECNL crushes it. GA is nto good at colelge commits at the mid-level. ECNL will commit whole teams at mid-level. Bad ECNL teams will commit mosy kids. Bottom GA will not. ECNLR is no where near top of GA but it matches the bottom and the lower mid.

Close, but the top 10 in ECNL would crush the top 10 in GA.
