Did anyone pick up on a hint of disappointment on Leslie’s face the next morning? Like she wasn’t 100 percent happy with her encounter.

100%

+200. I got the impression they talked about real issues and didn’t find they were completely compatible, so she suspects she’s going home.

I bet Theresa clinched it when she told him she's Republican, men eat that up.

She's a Republican? How did I miss that?

She's not. She's a registered Democrat. People are making all kinds of crazy assumptions about her that are not true.

I read on the subreddit that she's Dem, but voter records.com has her as unaffiliated.

Gerry spent most of his life in Iowa, which is of course a battleground state--voted for Obama but also for Trump. No way to know which way he leans.

If I had to guess, and I am just guessing, Gerry and Theresa are both moderates who believe in fiscal responsibility but also reasonable social safety nets, and probably don't engage with the culture wars. I would also guess that Leslie is more progressive.

How do you know who he voted for? Political donations?

I think the huge surprise is going to be something like he ends up with the woman whom he couldn't (or didn't) make himself say "I love you" to, but then suddenly he got to know her. Of course, the entire internet figured this out episodes before, but they are clinging to their narrative and acting as if that hasn't happened.

DP. That pp says she's in her 70s herself. If you can't be nice to a 70-year-old on a thread that talks about 70-year-olds, then you've really got issues.

DP. "Voted" refers to "state" immediately preceding it; i.e., the state of Iowa as a whole.

Ah. The difficulties of communication that come with aging. Fair enough, although it seems idiosyncratic to her.

Wait, Gerry voted for Trump? Do you have a cite for that?

Yes, that’s right. Couldn’t find info on Gerry’s voter registration, only Theresa’s.

We are really reaching now.

Can you imagine what this thread will stoop to by the time the finale airs in two weeks! 😂

Goes to show there is an audience for boomer content. Network executives:take note.

The executives apparently have duly noted the interest and are starting the casting search for the next golden bachelor.
