I’m approaching a “soft clothes only” phase — need help

Anonymous
50, WFH mostly (I have the court clothes I need) but have had several abdominal surgeries, so very uneven, bumpy there and now breast cancer. Fortunately budge isn’t a real concern. I want to look put together but also all pull on, comfy clothes. Otherwise, 5’5”, 135 lbs, currently big chest, hourglass figure, but not sure how that will turn out.

Everlane!

Also look up Stockholm style.

Wishing you health as well PP.

Many knits are attractive and practical. Just go for it! When your hormones are in flux and your weight varies, these elastic waist bands help.

Maybe the “foam” type clothes that are popular right now? I have some from Spanx (air something) but I think there are lots.

I cant remember the brand and im not at home but macys make the best yoga pants with thinner elastic at the top. I have some of the same problems and these work well.

These pull on type pants are everywhere now. I don’t even associate them with “old lady” clothes any longer.

Wishing you all the best, OP.

Do you want pants, or are you open to dresses? Something like this looks soft and easy to wear:
https://www.jjill.com/product/ponte-double-v-neck-seamed-dress?color=780

(Yes, I know people will claim that JJill means you've "given up", but their stuff does look reasonably put together and hits the pull-on, seamless requirement)

All the best to you, OP.

For comfy at home that looks pulled together athleisure, could check out "scuba" pullovers such as the style Lululemon has, though other brands make it too.

Also, puffer vests.

I was at Old Navy the other day, looked through the clearance rack. Found some petite pregnancy jeans on sale for $8. I bough them. I'm not pregnant, but those jeans were super comfy. I couldn't resist. I also wfh permanently. I plan on wearing it on those days I feel bloaty, and also when I want to pig out eating. I'll just make sure to wear a long shirt over it 😁

oh, and I'm 54 with the dreaded "mother's apron". I'm 5', 115lbs, but can't get rid of the mother's apron which adds a whole pant size up.

I have straight leg pull on pants from Duluth, Lands End (starfish), and Skechers.

I am an hourglass with a long torso so I buy "tall" tops even though I'm not super tall. Eddie Bauer and Lands End for tops, mostly. Layer with a sweater or quilted jacket if needed.

Soft Surroundings. Clothes, house stuff. Nice and comfy.

Blue canoe makes really soft stuff in a vibe that looks like middle aged Northern California glass artist or something.

I have the lands end starfish cotton pants and love them for around the house. I also got their long cashmere open sweater which is maybe too warm but very cozy.

Boden also has a lot of comfy well made jersey. I just ordered their Breton shirt and like it. I also got their jersey shirt dress and it’s very cozy if you want a dress.
