2025 PVS 14 & Under Champs cuts?

Anonymous
Does anyone know when they plan to release (or usually release) the annual PVS cuts? With meets starting soon, my kids are wondering what they are working towards. And if the slower national age group motivational time standards will make a difference. Thanks!

also will there be bag tags. I've heard so many kids are still upset about not getting the summer one.

I think they came out in January or so last year. Not anytime soon. I don’t think they will change at all based on the motivational time standards. The cuts and the standards are not linked in anyway so far as I can tell.

+1

The only reason the cut times will change is to make the meet whatever size PVS deems optimal.

Say they want 100 kids in the prelims for 10U girls 100 free. (This is hypothetical. I have no idea the correct target size.) If they had 120 qualifiers last year, they’ll make the time faster. If they had 80, they’ll make the time slower. The goal is to get as close to 100 qualifiers as possible.

So it’s not linked to the time standards.

^^ PP. it’s also possible that PVS looks across multiple years. But they’ll use whatever algorithm they think works best to get the meet size they prefer.

I thought they posted in November of last year. After the first few meets.

I’m also pretty sure they posted qualifying times in the fall.

As I remember it, last year’s times were posted prior to the Nov Open meets on 11/10.

I am surprised that they didn't wait until after the October Open.

Are the red times new ones? Slower or faster?

It can be either. Just means that it is different than last year.
