Say they want 100 kids in the prelims for 10U girls 100 free. (This is hypothetical. I have no idea the correct target size.) If they had 120 qualifiers last year, they’ll make the time faster. If they had 80, they’ll make the time slower. The goal is to get as close to 100 qualifiers as possible. So it’s not linked to the time standards.[/quote]
