A message from PA relatives: Stop sending your political canvassers from Maryland

Anonymous
I have relatives in PA that are registered Independent, voted for Biden in 2020. They planned on sitting this one out (massively disapprove of Biden) but now are leaning Trump. They said that three separate canvassing groups have knocked on their door and all were obviously coming from Maryland. They knew nothing of local or Pennsylvania commonwealth politics and were really annoyed with people from Maryland telling them how to vote.
If you want left progressive policies and crime and immigration, then stay in Baltimore/PG/Silver Spring echo chamber, you don't need to export your far-left nonsense. York County PA can think for itself.

What's the difference if your relatives are annoyed if they're already voting for Trump? Annoy them more, please.

I guess they shouldn’t go to MD for shopping, dining, or entertainment then. Since it’s such a mess, after all.

If they stop coming will they change their vote? Please ask them that and report back thanks. Then we can decide if we will stop coming.

If your relatives prefer Trump, they should vote for him. But if they actually dislike them both equally but just don't want to talk to canvassers, you should.me tion that voting is not going to stop them from being canvassed.

It's weird they just don't answer their door OP.

I think for people on the fence, the obnoxiousness of people on the left can push them over the edge.

Back in 2016, my dh was at the Harvard Kennedy school getting a masters, and there were some Chinese nationals who were canvassing for Hilary up in NH. Apparently they were surprised that they did not get a warm welcome. I honestly can’t imagine how anyone thought sending a foreigner to NH to tell someone how to vote was a good idea.

There's going to be people that are and aren't annoyed by it. The question is whether Democrats gain on net or lose on net. Living in a swing state means getting swamped by political activity. It is what it is.

They should be grateful their vote counts.

How exactly did your dh know that they were Chinese nationals and not Chinese Americans? Is he just generally upset that someone he perceives as a 'foreigner' dared to talk to him? I mean, the nerve, didn't they know he was studying at the Harvard Kennedy school?

If someone is going to vote for Trump because people tried to engage in a conversation with them about Harris ... pretty sure that is just an excuse and they were always going to vote for Trump. Congrats on having such low information relatives.

Bull! No one who ever voted for Biden would ever give a single thought to voting for Trump!

Wrong. People voted for Biden for calmness and because he said he’d be moderate. He has been way too progressive and Trump seems less scary now. Harris is going to continue the economic and immigration mess created by Biden. Trump looks good again.
