| Rumors swirling around Facebook and the Asha Degree sub on Reddit a search was underway today based on a confession and that a local news outlet is set to give an update on the search warrant at 11pm. I know she’s mentioned here quite a bit so I thought I’d share. |
| Following the Reddit hoping it’s her sad that she was so close to home this entire time if this is the case |
| OMG. This is one of my "pet" cases - nothing about the case makes any sense. Obviously it would be terribly sad for her family to have official confirmation that she's dead, but at least it's *some* closure...? |
Same. Did you see her cousin’s FB post? She really makes it sound like she could have been found. I hope so, so the family can have some closure. |
Me too, PP. I’m sure it’ll be a relief to get some answers. |
| Oh this is a case I think about often. So sad. |
|
I posted on the previous thread here a few months ago that I thought she was never far from her home and the sightings in the highway were not in fact her.
The one thing I have learned form true crime podcasts and highly publicized missing persons cases are foot searches aren’t that fruitful. Nowadays I think drone searching would be better |
| Anyone have a link to the presser ? |
It hasn’t happened yet. No update yet. |

Still investigating. Hopefully they update the story soon. |
| Hoping we get an update soon! The poor family, I pray they’ll finally have some closure. Some people owe the parents, particularly the father, an apology. |
| After reading the search warrant on Reddit, it seems likely that a teenage daughter of the Dedmon family accidentally hit her and panicked. Parents may have covered it up. Yikes, what a tragedy all around if this is true. They should have just reported it and given that family closure. |
It seems to be racist elements within that family. The pro-segregation school, family known around town as racist, etc.. I am guessing race played a role and they did not seek medical care for her because she was Black after she was hit. The fact that VHS, camcorder and photos are on the search warrant list makes me think they took images of her. |
Hit her that night? Or she was abducted then hit later? |
