Was anyone else unable to finish watching the newest Bridgerton?

Anonymous
I am a huge Bridgerton fan. I binge watched all the other series in one sitting. I couldn't wait for the newest series because I love Pippa's character.

I starting watching the first half the day it dropped.

It was sooooooo boring and awful. I could baely sit though it. It took me several tries to finish it, and I spent half of that time on my phone, glancing up for the few interesting characters. Anthony's story line was just weird. Pippa and Colin were about a romantic as 2 siblings fighting over the last slice of pizza. Francesca and her love interest was excruciatingly, mind numbingly boring, and completely 1 dimensionaland unlikable. The side stories were dumb and irrelevant. The interesting characters had very little screen time. The love scenes were all contrived, like they were written for and by dudes who think orgies = romance, and not for romantics or women. It was such a disappointment.

I was flipping channels this weekend, and just realized I never returned for the second half of the season. I don't know if I ever will.

Am I alone in this opinion?

NOT "Anthony's story line was just weird"

It should say Bnedict's story line was just weird.

Anthony should have been in parts of more scenes.

Loved it. And it is Penelope/Pen. Not Pippa.

Penelope, Pen, Pippa, whatever. Totally a mistake. Pippa Featherington was great. The sisters were a fun insert into an otherwise dull season. Pen's romance with Colin was completely flat, especially from him. If I discovered that she ended up with Lord Debling in the 2nd half, I might be tempted to watch it. They had chemistry. Pen and Colin? Completely unforgettable and unbelievable.

The overall first half was really bad. Unbelievably bad. Nicole is such a good actress, that it is a shame the writers gave her such poor material to work with.

That season was clearly not up to the level of all the others. It was such a disappointment.

You lost me at Pippa. Penelope has never been referred to as Pippa on the show.

The actor playing Colin just felt really flat to me and as a result the main relationship didn't work. I wanted Penelope to end up with someone else.

Bridgertons predictable now and all about a love match and wedding and happy ever after ending for each finale. It’s predictable

Watch Queen Charlotte instead, it’s a spin off about the queen and king George in their youth. Way way better than Bridgerton. Now that deserves more seasons.

It was just Meh for me. The first season was spicy and this was just lackluster. I think they missed the opportunity to really show Penelope as sexy and she is sexy regardless of her "size".
Plus their chemistry didnt show like it had in the other couples.

I wanted Pen to end up with the other guy, but with the other guy realizing he was madly in love with her and either couldn’t leave her or that she would go with him.

I quit watching several episodes into the second season.

Same. "Excruciating" is right.
