Normally I don't like black at weddings, but I have a dress like this but full length that may be my best option for a wedding that has recently been "upgraded" to black tie:

You could add a wide patent belt in whatever color you like (burgundy?) with coordinating dressy heels. |
| Unless it's a "black and white wedding" I wouldn't wear black, even in this day. |
| Plus, black tie is long gown, not cocktail. |
Got it. Re-read and see your dress is floor length. Still, I wouldn't wear black to a wedding. |
She said her version is long. Black is fine. |
Oh, FFS. We always hear this from people who have attended zero black tie events in the last decade or two but look up "What to wear to black tie" on the internet. That dress is perfect for black tie. |
| A long silk scarf in bright color or pattern you use as a sash. Shoes and purse picking up one of the colors. |
|
Agree. Perfect for black tie and of course you can wear black to a black tie wedding.
I love the belt idea. |
| I don’t have any advice, but the dress is fine for black tie as is, maybe some fun colorful earrings? FYI- I recently wore this style dress (halter top, pleated on the bottom) to a wedding and there were three other women there with the same style dress! Seems to be very popular right now. |
| It's elegant, which is nice. But I wouldn't wear black to a black tie wedding, personally. |
In black? |
| I love this dress. In my dreams (because I could never pull it off), I’d add a chunky bracelet, maybe statement earrings, any pretty shoes & go have fun! |
| I never would weer black to any wedding. Navy, burgundy, forest greens, plums are far more appropriate. |
